MGM Resorts Announces Two Live Entertainment Acts for Springfield Arena

—Pitbull and Professional Bull Riding to perform at MassMutual Center

SPRINGFIELD (MA) March 5, 2013 - MGM Resorts International today unveiled two extraordinary live entertainment acts as part of its continued effort to partner with the City of Springfield to bring a more than $800 million residential, retail, dining and entertainment district to Downtown Springfield.

Global superstar and recording artist Pitbull will bring his international appeal and chart-topping hits to the MassMutual Center on Friday, May 24, with tickets going on sale this week. The Professional Bull Riders (PBR) of the Lucas Oil Touring Pro Division are coming off a highly successful stop in Worcester last month and will make a return trip to Massachusetts on Sept. 6 and 7.

"We are very excited to bring the MGM Resorts entertainment experience to the City of Springfield," said Bill Hornbuckle, MGM Resorts President and Chief Marketing Officer and President of MGM Springfield. "We are proud of our ability to deliver the industry's leading entertainment to our venues in Las Vegas and look forward to sharing this opportunity with Springfield."

MGM Resorts is a world-class entertainment company and one of the nation's largest providers of live entertainment. It has unparalleled success in attracting high-profile, preeminent entertainment to its venues. Furthering its commitment to partner with the city, MGM is bringing these A-list performers to the MassMutual Center.

"We have partnered with the management team at the MassMutual Center in anticipation of these sensational shows," Hornbuckle said. "These performances are an early indicator of our commitment to draw on our strengths to mutually benefit our Springfield partners."

MGM Resort's entertainment vision for Springfield expands beyond indoor shows, and is rooted in partnerships that would increase tourism by elevating the level of dining, retail and entertainment offerings in the city. The MGM Resorts project area will serve as an anchor, but the outward-facing design encourages the experience to open up to Main Street and carry on throughout the city. The sprawling dining, retail and entertainment district will include a 12-screen cinema, bowling alley and outdoor stage.

Pitbull has risen to become a global sensation as both a recording and performing artist. The Miami-native added to a long-and-growing list of hits with his first No. 1 single, "Give Me Everything," from his album Planet Pit. The album earned critical acclaim and enjoyed massive commercial success with sales of more than 1.7 million albums and 18 million singles.

A true international superstar, Pitbull has performed to sold-out crowds throughout Latin America, Canada and Europe before bringing the party to the United States, Japan and Australia.

Mr. Worldwide (Armando Christian Perez) recently kicked off the 2013 GRAMMY Awards presenting the first award for Best Pop Duo performance with Jennifer Lopez.

Pitbull released his seventh album, Global Warming, in November. It includes the international smash hit, "Don't Stop The Party." He's also teaming with Christina Aguilera on his new single "Feel This Moment."

Global Warming features party-starting collaborations with pop music luminaries including Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias, Usher, The Wanted and more.

Pitbull also is an entrepreneur with his own line of premium, low-calorie vodka, Voli; an equity partner in the iconic food franchise that shares his Miami roots, The New Miami Subs Grill; RockDoc, a revolutionary portable speaker line; and a partnership with Sheets, the dissolvable energy strip. These entrepreneurial ventures are the latest for Pitbull who has inked major sponsorship deals with blue-chip brands like Bud Light, Dr Pepper, Pepsi (Latin America) and Kodak.
