MGM Springfield and Six Flags New England Sign Exclusive Partnership Agreement
Multi-year cross marketing deal inked

SPRINGFIELD (MA) November 4, 2013 - MGM Resorts International announced today that MGM Springfield and Six Flags New England have put the finishing touches on an exclusive multi-year joint marketing agreement. The deal designates MGM Springfield as the official casino-resort partner of Six Flags New England.

This extends MGM's commitment to work with existing entertainment facilities throughout the region to continue to grow the area's tourism economy.

"Early on MGM targeted Six Flags New England as a great corporate partner," said Bill Hornbuckle, MGM Resorts President and Chief Marketing Officer and MGM Springfield President. "Today's deal is a point of extreme pride as we have worked hard to connect with existing regional amenities that have deep roots in Western Massachusetts and not cannibalize these anchor attractions. This agreement proves it can be done."

This is the latest partnership announcement by MGM in its ongoing effort to work with the City of Springfield and the Western Massachusetts region to bring an approximately $800 million residential, retail, dining, and entertainment district to Downtown Springfield. Late last week MGM announced several exclusive endorsements by chambers of commerce throughout Western Massachusetts.

MGM Springfield is competing for the Western Massachusetts license with Mohegan Sun in Palmer, which in June announced a water and entertainment park was being added to their design.

"MGM Resorts is a valued client of Six Flags New England in Western Massachusetts," said John Winkler, President of Six Flags New England. "We are proud of our ongoing relationship with MGM Springfield and have enjoyed working with them on a variety of business initiatives."

Six Flags New England will receive significant exposure through MGM Resorts M life program. The M life program, MGM Resorts' proprietary loyalty program will offer specially priced tickets, discount packages and other exclusive offers to M life members.

"MGM Springfield and Six Flags New England have great synergy with a commitment to strong entertainment offerings and dynamic marketing plans," said Hornbuckle. “We look forward to a long and successful relationship."

Winkler added, "We welcome MGM Resorts into Springfield and look forward to building our marketing relationship as they seek expansion into the Western Massachusetts area."

In July, the MGM Springfield proposal was approved by Springfield voters, and since the vote the MGM team has been meeting with Western Massachusetts stakeholders and neighboring communities to firmly establish relationships and continue to prove themselves as the best casino operator to enhance the Western Massachusetts economy.

MGM Springfield, an approximately $800 million resort, is proposed for 14.5 acres of land between Union and State streets, and Columbus Avenue and Main Street. MGM is seeking the sole gaming license in Western Massachusetts.
