MGM Springfield Receives Additional Exclusive Neighborhood Endorsements

SPRINGFIELD (MA) March 15, 2013 - MGM Resorts International today announced that MGM Springfield will be wearing green this weekend as a major sponsor of and participant in this year¹s St. Patrick¹s Day Parade and celebration in Holyoke.

MGM Springfield local team members and supporters will welcome MGM Resorts employees from Las Vegas and Detroit to march alongside them in the legendary parade. MGM will sponsor the opening featured band, the Hawthorne Caballeros, as well as the Springfield Colleen Float.

MGM will highlight their entertainment strengths by offering onlookers a world-class visual experience throughout the parade. Representatives from four different Cirque du Soleil shows will bring their brand of high-energy acrobatics, dance and theatrics to the festivities. Performers from Mystere, O, LOVE and Zarkana are all scheduled to attend.

"MGM Springfield is excited to be part of such a beloved regional tradition," said Bill Hornbuckle, MGM Resorts President and Chief Marketing Officer and MGM Springfield President. "The entire MGM organization joins me in wishing our friends throughout Western Massachusetts a safe and happy St. Patrick's Day."

MGM Springfield has been fueled from day one by a community-engagement philosophy. In the competition to win the sole Western Massachusetts gaming license, community outreach has been the foundation of MGM¹s effort. Since the August 2012 announcement, MGM Springfield team members have held well over 200 community meetings to get residents and neighbors involved in the process. They also have used social media to engage people in all things MGM Springfield.

MGM already has supported some of Springfield's most important events and organizations, including the South End Community Center's After-School Programs, sponsorship of the Spirit of Springfield¹s Bright Nights at Forest Park and Fourth of July Fireworks, activities at the Puerto Rican Cultural Center, the Stone Soul Concert, and the Latino Chamber of Commerce Gala, as well as its sponsorship of the Springfield Armor and Springfield Falcons for their current seasons. In the month of March alone they are major sponsors of not only the parade, but the Urban League of Springfield's Centennial Gala, and the MAAC basketball tournament at the MassMutual Center.

As a sponsor of the 38th Annual St. Patrick's Day Road Race, MGM Springfield will have a table set up on Saturday at the finish line of the Holyoke 10K. The MGM Springfield table will be located near Brennan's Place at 173 High Street. MGM Springfield local team members will be distributing bottled water. This Holyoke St. Patrick¹s Day Parade spans 2.65 miles and will take place this Sunday beginning at 11:45 a.m. from the K-Mart parking lot on Northampton Street.

The St. Patrick's Day Parade in Holyoke began in 1952. It has grown to become the second largest St. Patrick¹s Day Parade throughout the United States. The parade is a must see for people from all over Western Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont and New York. The parade draws thousands of marchers, features a number of locally constructed floats, and hosts performances from dozens of bands.

MGM Springfield, an $800 million world-class residential, retail, dining and entertainment district, is proposed for 14.5 acres of landbetween Union and State streets, and Columbus Avenue and Main Street. MGM is seeking the sole gaming license in Western Massachusetts.
